Sabercats Inside the Top 10 at October's End

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- All three MBU teams that are affected by rankings are inside the NCCAA Top 10 as the postseason approaches.

The Women's Volleyball Team sits at third place, Women's Soccer is at fourth, and Men's Soccer holds the ninth spot in the latest table.

The rankings are developed by the NCCAA National Sport Chair and Regional Sport Chairs. The National Sport Chair compiles the national ranking based on points from each team’s ranking on the Regional Sport Chairs’ national ballots.

Women's Volleyball, who are back-to-back NCCAA DII national champions, have held a top 10 ranking for the entire season, and have been ranked no worse than fifth on the year.

The Sabercats currently hold a 15-14 record this season and are currently behind Randall University and Kentucky Christian University. Against NCCAA DII opponents this season, the Sabercats hold a record of 3-1.

Women's Soccer finished their regular season last weekend, and they hold the fourth spot in the rankings after finishing with a record of 6-7-1. Against NCCAA DII opponents, the Sabercats hold an undefeated record of 3-0-1 this season, which includes a 3-1 defeat of No. 4 Faith Baptist on August 31.

This is the second time this season that the Sabercats have been inside the Top 5, as they were voted No. 5 in the initial rankings on Sep. 12.

Men's Soccer holds the ninth spot, which they secured last week. This is the fourth week this season that the Sabercats have been ranked in the Top 10.

The team finished the regular season yesterday and holds an 8-9 record, which includes wins over Moody Bible and Emmaus Bible and losses against Grace Bible and North Central.

Each team will now await their seeding at next weekend's North Region Tournaments.
