WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The entirety of the Sabercats' baseball and softball seasons have been officially cancelled due to preventative measures for the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
The NCAA announced that all participating student-athletes in the spring seasons will retain the year of eligibility, which has significant impact on the four-year student-athletes. Those set to play their final season in the spring will be able to compete again in 2021.
The decision to cancel the seasons was officially made this evening after Maranatha announced a transition to online classes for the remainder of the semester.
The cancellations due to the outbreak affected Women's Basketball (NCCAA DII Nationals), Men's Volleyball (three remaining matches), and the entirety of the Baseball and Softball seasons.
